The You Lab at Kyung Hee University is pursuing an objective to establish molecular excited-state functionalities. Of prime interest is photonic and photoelectronic utility of metal complexes, such as phosphorescence and photoinduced electron transfer. We apply the synthetic chemistry to develop a novel class of molecular compounds, and investigate details into the fundamental aspects of the electronic mechanisms. Our molecules can find a broad range of applications, including photoredoxcatalysis, biosensors, electrophosphorescence, and single molecular memory.
